Greg Thompson (center), and his friend Bobby Foster (right), travel with their Guide on the Rio Negro in search of Peacock Bass.
Several years ago, Greg Thompson floated lighted candles down the Rio Negro in Brazil to honor fishing partners who had passed away. He wasn’t ready to do that for his friend Bobby Foster, who is a victim of multiple myeloma. Foster has battled the disease since being diagnosed in 2004, and has gradually gotten worse.
It was to the point that fatigue and chemotherapy treatments were keeping Foster from traveling to his favorite fishing spot, the Rio Negro, a tributary of the Amazon River, to fish for his favorite species, the Peacock Pass. Read more here:

New Outfitter Offers Santana Yachts - Amazon River Adventures is a new Outfitter on Brazil's Amazon scene utilizing the well-known Santana fleet, according to Pamelah Howard. While they are just getting started as a company, the primary management team is certainly not new in their expertise of the fishing business. American-based entrepreneur and operator, Sam Sudore, along with his team, Marc Cobos, and Pamelah Howard, collectively have over 45 years in the fishing business, and 30+ years in the Brazilian Amazon. You can read more about them at www.AmazonRiverAdventures.com (About Us page).
"We consider ourselves the "ultimate choice" when it comes to the client's Peacock Bass Fishing Trip of a Lifetime," says Pamelah.
"We are excited to bring our knowledge and experience of Amazon angling to our valued customer. Make no mistake - our team and staff goes the extra mile to ensure the fishing trip will be a smooth, successful and exciting one." Amazon River Adventures is now the "exclusive" operator for the Santana I yacht, and has access to the entire Santana fleet, including the 'Mother Ship', Amazon Santana. Each Santana live-aboard yacht provides air-conditioned, luxury accommodations and private baths per suite to enjoy in the pristine area. "These shallow draft yachts, along with our Tracker Bass Boats, are equipped with the latest technology for navigational purposes," she adds. "Their well-sought-after fishing guides are veterans of their trade and pride themselves in providing the best in customer service that is unsurpassed by no other. We recently sailed our inaugural fishing trip with a 'meet and greet' on November 30th, 2012 in the Rio Negro basin and tributaries. We are now offering an all-inclusive 6 1/2 day guided fishing packages (except for commercial airfare and gratuities) to the Amazon. We include free conventional tackle packages for each angler, rainforest walks, and village visitations (upon request). Many of you may know Pamelah who has handled the logistics and trip prep for customers getting ready for their Amazon trips for many years. She enjoys sharing her love and knowledge of the Amazon with customers, and makes the process run smoothly.
Visit their new website www.AmazonRiverAdventures.com and visit their Questions and Answers tab where you will be provided plenty of details about the particular trip. For more information on Amazon River Adventures, contact Pamelah Howard at (800) 398-5837 or email info@AmazonRiverAdventures.com.
